About Dababase
Existing protein-carbohydrate interactions databases are mainly focused on the binding affinity and structural data. There is no specific database for mutations on human carbohydrate binding proteins for our knowledge as of now. Hence, we have developed a novel database, CarbDisMut, which contains information on 1,170,330 disease-associated mutations and 38,636 neutral mutations in human carbohydrate binding proteins.
For each entry of mutation in CarbDisMut provides gene name, chromosome and genome position, type of mutation, origin, neighboring residues and structural information (if available). If structural information is available we have provided the carbohydrate details, interface residues, conservation score and mapped mutation with the UniProt sequence. Further, we have cross-linked with major protein and carbohydrate databases such as humsavar, clinvar, cosmic, glycosciences.de and Glygen. Comprehensive visualization, search, display and download options are available.
The database is publicly available and the website is implemented using HTML, PHP and javascript and supports recent versions of all major browsers, such as Firefox, Chrome and Opera.
