The Protein Bioinformatics Laboratory was established at the Department of Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in December 2010. Our primary objective is to elucidate the sequence-structure-function relationship of proteins through the application of bioinformatics, biophysics, and computational biology techniques. Our research encompasses various projects focusing on protein structure, folding, stability, interactions, and aggregation. Additionally, we are focusing on disease-causing mutations in membrane proteins, next-generation sequencing analysis, the application of deep learning in life sciences, proteome-wide annotations, and structure-based drug design. We have also commenced experimental procedures to validate several of our analytical findings.
